Threats to Amsterdam Airport Cause Huge Lines

Specific security measures are being taken today at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.  Only vague reasons for this have been given.  The royal military police is controlling all traffic entering the airport.  Long lines of waiting cars have formed.  On Twitter it is mentioned that people arriving with taxis have left their taxis to walk to the airport on the highway.  Traffic on the highway has been hindered from the security.  At 9:45 am the line on the highway reached more than 3 kilometers.  Travelers are advised to get to the airport early.

More than 40% of Dutchmen expect terror attacks in the next year
According to a poll by Maurice de Hond, 41% of Dutchmen think that it is probable that there will be a terror attack in the next year in the Netherlands.  28% think that it is probable that in the coming 5 years a world war will break out.

Parliamentarian Asks Rehabilitation for Whistle Blower Who Wanted To Prevent Pakistani Atom Bomb


Dutch parliamentarian, Ronald van Raak, of the Socialist Party, has asked for the rehabilitation of the whistle blower Frits Veerman, who has been intimidated by the Dutch authorities for many decades.  Forty years ago, Veerman was a collaborator of Abdul Khan, a Pakistani who worked in the Netherlands and stole secrets which enabled Pakistan to build an atom bomb.  The Dutch Secret Service, which knew about the spy, did not want to interfere because of a request of the CIA.  The know-how Pakistan acquired has been shared with Iran and North Korea.

Erdogan-supporting Dutch Turks threaten Opponents

There are reports that in Amsterdam lists are circulating of Dutch Turkish businessmen who are opposed to Turkish President Erdogan. Ahmet Taskian of the Dutch Turkish business organization Hogiaf said that at least twenty businesses appear on the black list. He asked the Dutch government to intervene. Mehmet Cerd editor of the pro-Gulen paper Zaman Vandaag has been called on Twitter a traitor. A Dutch journalist reporting on the Dutch Turkish community has been attacked.

Jihadists Complain about Conditions in Dutch Jail

Jihadists in the prison of Vught have written a manifest of 32 pages to protest their conditions there. Due to a mistake of the prison management, the document has reached the media. The prisoners write that their conditions are so sparse, that it is barely better than being in an isolation cell.  They claim, for instance, that there are no sports facilities. They mention that they have raised these issues many times with the prison management without results. One of the prisoner’s lawyers, AndrĂ© Seebregts, says that “constructive conversations” are going on about the conditions.

Rotterdam Mayor against Muslim Hate

As Salafists are planning an institute in an old school building in Rotterdam, questions have been put to Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb in the municipal council. Aboutaleb has answered that the municipality will do everything to prevent activities which are illegal, cause unrest, spread hate, and recruit people for war activities elsewhere.  He added that there is no place for people who use freedom of religion to prevent integration or incite various parts of the population against each other.
