Mayor of Utrecht Threatened by Criminals


Mayor Aleid Wolfsen of Utrecht is being threatened by criminals. He now has permanent bodyguards both at the municipality building and at his home. Various units of the police are involved. Regular policemen stand in front of his home and the municipality. Within the municipality and visits outside, he is accompanied by specialized bodyguards of the police. Minister Liesbeth Spies of the Interior has said it is terrible that this is necessary in order to enable the mayor to function.
